Security Guard at PVHR LLC in National City, California

$18.73 - $24.44 per hour




Job Description:

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe campus and a security presence while working at the community. Provides customer service to residents, family members, providers, and visitors/guests. Expected to work independently with a high level of responsibility. Decision-making is required on a regular basis.


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Responsible for patrolling all buildings, grounds, and parking areas.  Check all exterior doors, gates, garages, and windows to ensure they are secure.  Monitor all properties for vandalism or unauthorized persons.

  • Perform telephone reception duties as required, take messages, and provide detailed information as required.

  • Perform physical wellness checks on residents and follow up management as well as family members/emergency contacts. Assist with escorting residents, personnel, and vendors throughout the campus.

  • Responsible for completing a daily activity report (DAR) for each shift and providing a detailed incident report for any events that require management attention and/or emergency personnel.

  • Responsible for completing security rounds and utilizing your employee badge at specific locations.

  • Responsible for resident pendant alerts and clearly communicating the outcome via DAR, pendant log and incident report if required.

  • Responsible to work effectively and to make decisions under stressful conditions, and to remain calm during emergency situations.  Keep all staff and resident information confidential.  Effectively communicate with residents, family members, providers, and visitors/guests.

  • Responsible for monitoring campus security cameras and reporting outages.

  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings such as monthly safety committee, monthly all staff - department meetings and daily stand-up meetings.

  • Serve as the liaison for management in the event of an emergency after normal business hours.

  • Responsible for gathering and disposing of any garbage or debris found during his/her security patrols.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Previous experience in security or customer service is desirable.

  • Current Guard Card

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, basic physical and TB test.

  • Ability to pass a tuberculosis test.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language, and to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:


Working at times in diverse weather conditions.  Working under stressful conditions during emergency situations.  Overtime, night, weekend, or holiday work may be required.


Supervision:


Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
