Overview

This position is responsible for providing full-time on-site technical support for a JBT AGV System located at the Gold Bond Building Products facility in Eloy, Arizona. This support will include AGV and AGV System troubleshooting and repair, preventive maintenance of the AGV fleet and resolving issues with AGV hardware and overall system functionality.

This position is responsible for full-time on-site work as follows:

Responsibilities

  1. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance services as well as on-call maintenance for the fleet of JBT AGVs currently in operation
  2. Diagnose and repair vehicle and vehicle/system related issues
  3. Assist in upgrades/retrofits requiring vehicle modifications
  4. Assist with AGV component repairs when/if necessary
  5. Monitor and maintain on-site parts inventory and parts orders
  6. Provide AGV systems operations support for new / modified systems and start-ups
  7. Work closely with the full-time On-site Senior Technician to assist in troubleshooting and resolving AGV system issues.

The incumbent must stay current with the latest designs, features and equipment that JBT Automated Systems offers. The organization's matrix environment requires tact, diplomacy and strong prioritization skills to accomplish the numerous, often conflicting, daily support requirements.

The incumbent needs to be able to respond to emergency situations which may require frequent schedule changes/adjustments based on the customer’s needs with minimal time to prepare.

The incumbent has the latitude to make significant software and hardware adjustments to the JBT installed system to satisfy the customer’s needs. It is then the responsibility of the incumbent to record these changes for permanent documentation at the JBT home-office.

The incumbent will be responsible to self-manage his/her day-today activities and will report locally to our customer representative/system owner



Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Electronics Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Three to five years experience and in-depth technical knowledge of AGV product lines. Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and basic electronics hand-tools.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Competencies

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. This position also requires the following computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, and Syteline or a comparable MRP business system.
