Title: Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management



POSITION SUMMARY

As the Chief Student Affairs Officer, the Vice President is responsible for the vision, strategic planning and oversight for the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Division. The Vice President provides dynamic and effective leadership for key administrative and co-curricular offices and departments associated with students' college engagement outside of the classroom including enrollment services, access center, testing, career services, financial aid and student life across all Nashville State campuses. The Vice President, in collaboration with academic affairs and other appropriate units, works to strategically align all co-curricular activities overseen by the division to enhance student learning and success.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide dynamic, innovative, effective leadership and oversight for constituent departments in planning and implementing organized enrollment and matriculation processes. Work in close partnership with academic affairs and other appropriate areas of the college to implement institutional initiatives designed to increase student success. Continually assess processes and procedures for ease and effectiveness of services and implementation of automated strategies that provide timely communications with students and appropriate constituents.


Provide leadership for a safe student environment that contributes to learning and supports intellectual, emotional, academic and professional development of students. Build teams that advance the implementation of the College's strategic plan and services that support a student-ready college approach to enrollment management and student development. Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional laws, regulations, reports and accreditation matters relative to student affairs, enrollment management and financial aid. Chair the college Behavioral Intervention Team. Oversee the College's student discipline program and ensure due process in the timely handling of student conduct violations according to college/TBR/State/Federal policies. Develop and coordinate programming/referral services that enhance student engagement and personal development. Create, expand and sustain community partnerships with community services providers and colleges/universities.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution


Eight (8) years of broad-based progressive leadership within student affairs and leading multiple areas on a college campus or equivalent


Three (3) years successful supervisory experience, including hiring and evaluating employees



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education


Demonstrated experience leading comprehensive student-centered programs and services that increased enrollment, persistence and retention


Senior level experience in student affairs at the director level or above


Community college administration experience


Experience with Banner and Slate or their equivalents


Experience with financial aid management



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of student development theory, with demonstrated success in implementing student success strategies. Ability to collaborate across departments, disciplines and programs within a college setting. Knowledge of the components for strategic enrollment management and ability to lead the development and implementation of an institutional SEM plan.


Understanding of federal/state financial aid and scholarships and their impact on student enrollment and retention. A record of valuing differences among faculty, staff and students. Experience with delivering student services and support in a complex, multi-campus operation. Demonstrated experience working with first generation, low income and underrepresented populations.

Rate of Pay: $99,077 to $128,800 annually, depending on experience
