Job Description:

As an Assembler at Johnson Controls, the primary responsibility is to assemble and disassemble units or components in a safe manner with a focus on quality workmanship. This role may also involve operating equipment, cranes, or forklifts. The Assembler is expected to maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to safety regulations, and follow instructions for efficient production.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and disassemble units or components.
• Clean equipment and work area.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Physical/Mental Requirements:
• Lifting 50 lbs. (occasional)
• Standing (constant)
• Walking (frequently)
• Bending (frequently)
• Climbing (occasional)
• Crawling (occasional)
• Reaching (frequent)
• Grasping (frequent)
• Sitting (occasional)
• Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Vision corrected to 20/20.
• Handling equipment (frequently)
• Environmental Factors:
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor and outdoor).
• Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Tools and Equipment Used:
• Tape measure, small hand tools, power tools, crane, brazing torch.

Qualifications:

• Good hand dexterity required for fitting and assembling products.
• Some judgment required.
• Ability to perform math at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment as required.
• Additional Qualification (Depending on Assembler Type):
• Active participation in a Continuous Improvement Team is required.
