We are hiring a Senior Editor of Government Technology Content for one of our largest and fastest growing accounts - a Fortune 200 company, whose accolades include Content Marketing Program of the Year. Our ideal candidate has been an editor for at least 5 years and is ready for the senior editor role. We're seeking a vibrant, engaged, strategic thinker who thrives on the creative process and delivering impactful creative work. In this role, you'll write and edit B2B government technology content focused on state and local, you'll develop the content strategy, and will participate in the fulfillment of that strategy. You'll be responsible for the audience you build and nurture, and you will also work directly with clients and pitch directly to them. This role reports to the Associate Editorial Director and is based in D.C. (hybrid).

Responsibilities

? Lead editorial and messaging direction for B2B state and local government technology content.

? In keeping with client brand parameters, own editorial calendar development, content creation and content editing on a variety of content projects.

? Hone and develop multidiscipline marketing and content campaigns across multiple channels.

? Collaborate with analytics, audience engagement and performance marketing to support content strategy with data-driven creative ideas.

? Assign stories to and work closely with freelance writers as needed.

? Attend and cover industry events as needed.

? Identify opportunities to bring brand and marketing insights to wider content program.

Requirements

? 5+ years of professional writing experience including experience as a journalist and/or editor.

? Experience working with clients in an agency setting.

? Experience writing and editing about government technology content.

? Experience in B2B marketing; experience in content marketing preferred.

? Sharp writing and editing skills and ability to craft compelling narrative on deadline.

? Experience with content management systems, HTML and CSS.

? Meticulous attention to detail and deadlines.

? On-camera video experience a plus.

? Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
