Job Description:

The Director of Total Rewards is a newly established and pivotal role intended to innovatively shape and manage the organization's compensation, benefits, and HRIS initiatives. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of various specialties including, but not limited to, compensation programs and structures, benefits management and best practices, HR information systems, as well as data and people analytics.

PLEASE NOTE: This a hybrid role, with 4 days in office. We are open to this person sitting in our NY or NJ office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

COMPENSATION:
  • Design and implement a consistent job classification framework that aligns with organizational hierarchy and industry benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Business Unit Leaders to define job roles and responsibilities within the framework.
  • Establish clear and consistent job bands to facilitate career progression and talent management.
  • Define criteria for each job band, considering factors such as skills, experience, and responsibilities.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of compensation programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
  • Manage the planning and execution of annual compensation planning (merit, promotion, bonus, etc.), with a heavy emphasis on pay for performance.
  • Make recommendations for adjustments to total rewards offerings.

BENEFITS:
  • Oversee the design, communication, and administration of diverse benefits programs (health, retirement, wellness, etc.) in coordination with external partners.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous enhancement of benefit offerings.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to offer a well-rounded and valuable benefits package to employees.

HR INFORMATION SYSTEMS:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality.
  • Conduct a thorough audit of the existing HRIS to identify inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate data integrity, security measures, and overall system performance.
  • Lead initiatives to clean and standardize HRIS data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement data quality controls and processes to maintain consistency over time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (domestic and global) to ensure seamless integration with other platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, HRIS or total rewards
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation practices, benefits trends, and employee recognition strategies
  • Proficient in analytical skills and data interpretation for informed decision-making
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at various levels
  • Current knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in compensation and benefits
  • Familiarity with HRIS and data analytics tools (e.g., Paylocity, SuccessFactors)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) are advantageous

NEW YORK PAY RATE: $140k-$175k
