Center for Family Life in Sunset Park, a nationally-recognized social service program in Sunset Park Brooklyn, is seeking a Program Coordinator to work with school-aged participants in one of our ten school-based programs and their families. Our school-based programs provide a diverse range of daily after-school activities and in-school programming at three of our school sites. Program components are implemented by professional social workers, artists and young adults from the community, in collaboration with teachers and school administrators. Our ideal candidate has knowledge and experience in Social Group Work and will bring a passion for neighborhood-based work to enrich the lives of youth, families and community.
I.SPECIFICRESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to
Be an active member of the leadership team of social workers, artists and youth development professionals overseeing Center for Family Life's school-based program
Supervise daily afterschool program, which includes a full menu of learning enrichment and leadership development activities, homework assistance, and supper program
Collaborate with school staff to implement afterschool program
In collaboration with colleagues, plan and implement program-wide workshops, field trips, celebrations and other family engagement events
Develop and lead a variety of afterschool groups and activities that foster leadership development and civic engagement
Provide crisis intervention with onsite participants and make referrals, as necessary
Co-supervise young adult staff; design and run weekly staff professional development meetings, provide regular individual supervision and mentoring
Administrative tasks related to the program and the site
Assist with management of program budget and multiple public and private contracts/funding streams
Track, review and analyze enrollments, attendance and outcome data
Some evening and weekend hours required throughout the year
Work closely with parents and families of youth enrolled in afterschool program

II.QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in Social Work or related field
Bilingual Spanish/English or Mandarin/English required
Interest and commitment to learning and working within a social group work model
Highly organized and able to manage time efficiently
Experience with and passion for facilitation of groups with young adults
Ability to be a genuine and positive member of a team, be flexible
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Has skills supervising program staff
Has strong interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills
Has an interest in working with participants with some challenging behaviors
Has interest in managing and creating positive experiences for groups
