Litigation Hold Manager, North American Claims Group at Allied World in Farmington, Connecticut

Job Description:

Job Summary:            

Work with claims staff, supervisors and counsel to draft and issue the appropriate litigation hold

notices and preserve custodian mailboxes and other data as required under our legal hold

obligations.

Job Duties:     

·       Prepare and distribute litigation hold memoranda, including initial and lift notices, and manage record keeping of litigation hold data across product lines.

·       Create, manage and lift litigation hold cases in Relativity and work with IT to ensure custodian data is preserved and maintained.

·       Work with IT to evaluate and report on the status of litigation holds on current and former Company employees to claims analysts and supervisors. 

·       Generate monthly and quarterly reports on litigation holds, preservation metrics, and lifts.

·       Work with claims analysts and supervisors on special projects as needed.

·       Review, analyze and audit law firm invoices for compliance with Allied World Billing and Litigation Guidelines as needed.

·       Meet or exceed productivity requirements.

·       Perform any and all duties as assigned and related to the goals of the Department and Company.

Job Requirements:   

·       A minimum of three years’ experience handling insurance claims, legal invoice review and/or

·       practicing insurance defense law.  A minimum of two years of experience working on litigation

·       holds and/or auditing legal bills.  Legal experience required, JD preferred. 

·       Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

·       Self-starter with effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines. 

·       Strong computer literacy with a solid working knowledge of Relativity, Legal Tracker, and Excel.              

·       A clear understanding of litigation hold requirements and processes.

·       Ability to see the “big picture” while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
