The Autism Society Tidewater Virginia is a local affiliate of the nation's oldest leading grassroots Autism organization, the Autism Society, which empowers everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. The organization provides supports and services throughout the lifespan, including education and advocacy efforts, to over half a million members of the Autism community each year. Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for an Operations Support Supervisor located in Virginia Beach, VA. The Operations Support Supervisor reports directly to the Board of Director's President and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, supervising office staff and making decisions regarding the daily function within the limits approved by the Board and as directed by the Board President. The Operations Support Supervisor represents the affiliate with local entities serving our Autism community, professionals, educators, government officials, families, and individuals on the Autism Spectrum. The position has a flexible work schedule which may consist of weekdays as well as Saturdays, Sundays and/or evenings as needed but advance notice will be given. Some travel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises office staff, volunteers
Schedules and/or facilitates family workshops, parent trainings, group/support meeting, resource fairs and outside presentations (online and/or in person)
Represents the organization at various community events
Assists committee chairs with planning and implementing events, fundraisers, and group activities
Provides written updates/reports to the Board President, which includes:
Assists with updating regulatory documents for the organization
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Supervisory Skills and Operations Management experience
Analytical Skills and ability to problem solve and make decisions based on data
Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional interpersonal skills necessary
Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills necessary
Customer Service oriented with a passion for helping others
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working in a non-profit organization is a plus
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field is preferred
