Job Description:

CBTS is currently seeking a Patch Management Specialist for a position located in Plano, TX.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Patch Management Specialist to join our team on a project-based engagement. This role is essential for managing and improving our current vulnerability and patch management processes, with a primary focus on patching activities and vulnerability assessments. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in reviewing, cleaning up, and optimizing our patch management strategy, ensuring our systems are secure and up-to-date.

Responsibilities:

- Vulnerability Management: Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses. Work closely with our security tools, such as Tenable, to ensure all vulnerabilities are accurately tracked and addressed. Address discrepancies by reviewing and cleaning up vulnerability reports and excluding false positives where necessary.

- Patch Management: Develop and implement a robust patch management strategy. Focus on identifying and applying necessary patches to our systems, especially in the Microsoft environment. Ensure all systems are consistently monitored and updated to mitigate security risks.

- Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with key stakeholders, to align patch and vulnerability management activities with our overall security strategy. Participate in discussions regarding network and system monitoring, with a special focus on Wi-Fi performance and issues impacting tablet devices.

- Project Focus: Engage in project-based activities with a focus on specific vulnerabilities and patch management tasks. Ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall security of our server environment.

Experience:

- Proven experience in vulnerability and patch management, particularly within a Microsoft environment.

- Shavlik experience is required, familiarity with Tenable is a plus, but not required.

- Ability to work onsite in a hybrid model, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the project's needs.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the capability to review, analyze, and optimize patch management processes.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to engage in productive discussions with team members and senior leadership.
