A professional services firm on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their growing team as their new Tax Generalist / Partner.
Responsibilities: The Tax Generalist / Partner will:
Maintain extensive knowledge of accounting rules and regulations and applies technical knowledge in a practical business manner
Lead the Tax Seniors and Staff Accountants in an effective way
Ensure that assignments are accomplished within the budgeted time
Interact with clients to discuss issues with regard to tax information throughout the year
Develop technical knowledge through participation in organization meetings, training programs, attending industry events and participation in research activities
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and regularly interface with client's senior management
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive Tax experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, and/or a related field
CPA or parts passed
Proficient in Corporate, International, Federal and State & Local Tax
Solid background in Corporate Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions, C-Corps, Partnerships and individual/ trusts
Strong skills in Tax Accounting
Proficiency in US GAAP, Tax Compliance, Corporate Consolidated Returns, Consolidated Federal Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and combined State Tax Returns
Proficient with Tax software, ProSystems and CCH
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
