Description:

The Process Technician is an essential function of the Engineering team that is necessary to monitor and improve manufacturing processes. They are responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine parameters, testing batch quality, and reporting equipment malfunctions in the production environment.

Requirements:


• Daily Checks - Process/Other

• Support sample/PPAP runs

• Support Engineering in trials in regards to setup, data collection, tracking, and execution

• Daily Process Parameter Verification on Casting Machines

• Troubleshoot, track and correct shot problems with support as needed

• Focus Cell Improvement Tasks

• New hire caster training - on the job and classroom

• Training operators on proper startup/shutdown procedures

• Troubleshoot x-ray void issues at castings and support casting to correct

• Evaluate castings for defects/coating issues and support/train operators to correct

• Training operators on proper coating techniques/verify acceptable coating on cells

• Mix Coating and Track Baume

• Coating gun maintenance (support/train operators as needed)

• Train operators on tube and bushing changes

• Torch maintenance (checks, replacements, etc.)

• Identify and fix water flows

• Identify and work with maintenance to correct machine issues

• Backup support for mold setters

• Make Tubes (as a backup)

• Verify that all proper tools, correct screens, correct coating, etc. are at the casting cells daily

• Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor and management

• Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Blood borne

• Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics


  • Must be able to follow quality procedures and complete required documentation
  • Have good mechanical ability and be familiar with the use of hand tools and basic knowledge of machinery operations
  • Ability to read prints
  • Must know how to use basic precision measuring tools such as micrometer, caliper, scale, and height gage
  • Knowledge of industry products and processes
  • Must be detail oriented and able to spot differences in finished goods
  • Be a team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills; as well as, working knowledge of MS Office
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to balance workload around changing priorities
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills – interpersonal/presentation/written for all levels of management and support staff
  • Strong collaboration skills - conducive to a positive team work environment

  • 3+ years applicable experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Must have experience with troubleshooting mechanical/electrical equipment issues
  • Intermediate mechanical and/or electrical basic problem solving
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, inspection equipment, and common office equipment
  • Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures
  • Must be able to analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues using independent judgment
  • Must be able to routinely make decisions that affect immediate operations
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks
  • Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
