Job Description Summary The University of South Alabama’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department is seeking to hire a Secretary V. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.



Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares correspondence, course materials, reports, and other documents using a PC.
  • Maintains departmental files and maintains databases using MS Excel.
  • Takes minutes at meetings and prepares for final distribution.
  • Answers questions concerning departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains supervisor’s calendar.
  • Makes travel arrangements and prepares travel reimbursement forms.
  • Utilizes the Banner Finance and Student Records Systems to access department and student information.
  • Assists in the student advising process to include notifying students via email of upcoming advising dates.
  • Advises students regarding enrollment policies and procedures.
  • Greets and routes visitors.
  • Answers telephone and directs calls.
  • Opens and distributes mail.
  • Orders equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
