Successful company that holds a large part of the market share in their industry is seeking a leader with experience in rubber materials manufacturing and mixing. Company is adding new products and equipment. First shift, salaried position with a full suite of benefits, safety shoe reimbursement, onsite gym.
This position will oversee the daily operations of manufacturing for Rubber Mixing at the corporation. This person will coordinate, plan, and direct all activities having to do with the Mixing of Rubber compounds at the corporation. This person should also be able to analyze production costs to verify he/she is meeting the corporation's business plan goals. Ability to independently and effectively problem solve when trouble shooting. If necessary, lead cross-functional teams to resolve concerns. In addition, manage and assign personnel to accomplish tasks that occur under the requirements of mixing and compounding of rubber. The goal of this position should be to develop the people under themselves so that he/she can spend 60% of his/her time on continuous improvement projects and bringing new ideas to completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Decide how best to use plant's workers and equipment to meet production goals
Ensure that production stays on schedule and within budget
Ensure that departments achieve production rates established by leadership
Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff
Analyze projection data
Write production reports
Monitor plant's workers to ensure they meet performance and EHS and PPE safety requirement
Streamline the production process
Determine whether new machines are needed or whether overtime work is necessary
Direct and assist where necessary in the fixing of any production problems
Aid in the implementation, creation, and/or maintenance of continuous improvement systems (5S, ISO 9001), processes for productivity, safety, cost, quality, and waste reduction
Provide technical solutions to help aid engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer issues
Recommend and implement changes to production standards in order to achieve the best quality within the limits of the equipment capabilities
Develop the capabilities of machines and production schedules
Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to clearly communicate how department is running to goal
Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products to take a lead in process improvement activities
Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods
Provide recommendations on revision to new and/or existing parts, products, and processes by analyzing study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to improve efficiency, increase production, or improve on standards
Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure products meet quality standards

Technical Qualifications:
5 year minimum, 10+ years preferred, background experiences in the following: Rubber Processing, Mixing, Extrusion, and Molding
Rubber Compounding/Mixing
Exposure to internal and external customer relationships
Exposure to working in a team environment
Rubber / Plastic processing or manufacturing background
Familiarity with manufacturing processes
Implementing 5S
Managing processes with SPC
ISO 9001, ASTM, TS 16949
Computer applications: AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project
Working knowledge of Six-Sigma and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
