We are actively seeking an experienced Head Staff Development Specialist to join the Housing for Health (HFH) Department within the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. In this critical role, the Head Staff Development Specialist will lead the design, development, implementation, and supervision of the CHAMP training program, ensuring that participants acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their respective roles. This position involves overseeing a team of trainers, coordinating training activities, and fostering collaboration with various departments to align our training initiatives seamlessly with our organization's strategic goals. Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, adeptness in creating employee training resources, a solid foundation in training principles, effective communication, and mastery of evaluation techniques for training programs.
This position may involve occasional travel within Los Angeles County, encompassing participation in in-person training sessions, collaboration meetings with HFH personnel, and interactions with contracted agencies. Additionally, it may entail attending off-site meetings, conferences, and other relevant events as deemed necessary for the position's responsibilities.
