About the Positions

Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is hiring a Project Coordinator or Project Assistant to serve on SCG's Global Corrections Team and support the delivery of a complex, global corrections training program at multiple locations in the United States for participants from around the world. This position supports the planning and execution of 50-60 trainings a year, including delegation arrival and departure, event material preparation, classroom set-up and assistance during training delivery, survey distribution, site visits, graduation ceremonies, and cross cultural and networking activities off site. This position is responsible for communicating with sponsors, hosts, participants, trainers, and vendors to ensure the seamless execution of event logistics. This position also provides monitoring and evaluation support to capture programmatic impact.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Fluency in English required. Proficiency in at least one other foreign language (French, Spanish, Arabic) highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with event planning and execution, and logistics.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work well within a team setting, collaborate with others, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing and able to travel to Sykesville, MD and/or Canõn City, CO and support cross cultural and networking activities on nights and weekends (flex schedule), as required.
  • Willing to be based in McLean, VA.

Project Coordinator
  • Master's Degree (preferred); Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least two years of full-time, relevant work experience including planning and executing event logistics, managing event vendors; providing diplomatic and responsive customer service to event participants; and problem-solving travel-related emergencies and logistical hurdles.
  • Proven experience working with a team or collaborating with others to problem solve event and travel logistics.
  • Experience working in or with the U.S. State Department or U.S. Embassies (preferred).
  • Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience.

Project Assistant
  • Up to two years of work experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience.
