DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking an CAD Technician to join our Idaho Falls, ID team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated team member with responsibilities including design and documentation for a broad range of project types. With a current focus on growing Federal, Department of Defense, and International project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Healthcare, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use, the person will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and building systems engineers.

• Work within a team performing various tasks and assisting engineers with mechanical calculations, producing construction drawings based on sketches and verbal instruction, and laying out engineering designs in CAD and Revit
• Assist other departments within the office on an as-needed basis
• Work directly under the supervision of a licensed engineer/senior designer who will guide you in the development of deliverables

DESCRIPTION

Duties, under supervision from senior personnel:

• Uses Revit, CAD and other computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks
• Floorplan layout and detailing of Mechanical Piping and Ductwork drawings
• Floorplan layout and detailing of Plumbing Piping drawings
• Construction Document control
• No travel or limited local travel required

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Associate Degree in Computer Drafting or equivalent
• 0-3 years related experience
• 
  Preferred technical experience/skills: Piping Design, Ductwork Design, HVAC & Plumbing Diagrams
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Visual, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is highly preferred
• Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role

COMPENSATION

$21.00- $32.00 per hour, based on applicants experience.
