The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, seeks to provide internists training in hospital medicine research, medical education, quality improvement or global health while appointed as 70% effort Clinical Associates. The appointees will manage patients with complex sub-specialty needs, which will involve night and weekend coverage. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.


Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Internal or Hospital Medicine.
