Your Team & Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on/in Data Management & Governance Platform you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers and delivery professionals to improve Platform and Innovation services.  You will code, test and debug new and existing applications as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to applied experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day


  • Work closely with Platform architects, in actively contributing to platform architecture and infrastructure scaling discussions, solutions design, evaluating new features and capabilities in the IDMC product roadmap.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot CDGC tool issues, timely escalate and work closely with Informatica support, Admin & Infrastructure teams in resolving the issues.

  • Manage and track issues and establish a transparent communication and clarity with all stakeholders and platform users on the progress and the status on the open issues.

  • Work closely with platform users, data stewards and governance teams in identifying any key bottleneck or scope of improvements and recommend/implement solutions.

  • Closely follow up on IDMC Platform roadmap, understanding release scope, analyzing new features and fixes introduced in each release.

  • Perform quick PoC/Demo to evaluate fitment of any new tool capabilities in meeting governance and platform needs.

  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors

  • Use programming languages (preferably Python) and approved AWS toolsets to implement solutions and automations.

  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact. 

The Skills & Expertise You Bring


  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields

  • Good knowledge on Data Governance process and Data lifecycle management adoption

  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.

  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience on working with Cloud Data Governance Catalog (CDGC), Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) or experience in legacy Informatica tools such as Axon, EDC and IDQ tools

Applied experience with several of the following:


  • Proficiency in using Informatica Data Management Cloud (IDMC) Platform tools.

  • Insight into IDMC Architecture and infrastructure, including Runtime environment setup and EKS clusters.

  • Experience in carrying out IDMC Administration and configuration, which includes setting up org/sub-org, securing agents, defining roles and privileges, access management, and troubleshooting through access and analysis of logs.

  • Experienced in setting up and scanning metadata and perform cataloging, data classification, and curation process.

  • Should have experience on working with Cloud Data Governance Catalog (CDGC), Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) or experience in legacy Informatica tools such as Axon, EDC and IDQ tools

  • Should have experience in building solutions using Informatica APIs and building integrated workflows to automate the data governance process.

  • Working knowledge in implementing data lineage, DQ frameworks, metadata management and governance process automation is a plus

  • Required to have working knowledge of Python and associated libraries.

  • Knowledge on AWS environments and working on AWS services like lambda, Glue, Athena and Redshift.

  • Proficiency in querying, analyzing, and filtering advanced cloud data files like Parquet, Avro, Json hierarchical files.

The salary range for this role is from $105,100.00 to $156,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
