The Ahmari Lab within the Translational Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a postdoctoral associate interested in examining the neurobiological mechanisms of obsessive-compulsive disorder and other compulsive behaviors and anxiety in rodents. Approaches used by the Ahmari Lab to better understand the brain circuitry underlying compulsive behavior include mouse behavior, one-photon calcium imaging, fiber photometry, optogenetics, and in vivo electrophysiology. The lab also emphasizes the translation of findings from rodents into clinical practice. A successful candidate will work independently on research projects with supervision from the Principal Investigator and collaboratively within a collegial team committed to diversity, equity, and inclusivity.

Requirements are:

- Doctorate in neuroscience, psychology, biology, or related field.

- 3-5 years of experience/exposure and a commitment to research.

- Candidates are expected to have advanced written and oral communication skills.

- Previous research experience in studying translational neuroscience or biological psychiatry is preferred, and we are also interested in candidates with experience or expertise in calcium imaging, mouse behavior, and/or computational biology.
