Basic Job Functions:




For steel plant manufacturing facility, responsible for providing effective professional safety and health support to all teammates to improve and sustain a culture that values Safety above all else. Promote worksite safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes and industrial health and safety laws. Assist in the implementation of loss prevention, safety, health, security and fire control effort for all teammates and facilities. Maintain the safety management system. Assist with the development of job hazard analysis (JHA) and job safety analysis (JSA)procedures. Provide services to customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. Responsible for analyzing compliance, implementing best practices, implementing effective communication systems for safety and health issues. Responsible for working Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) state and federal safety regulations. Identify training needs and delivering training. Responsible for auditing safety efforts. Participate in and/or lead safety focus teams. Work with state and federal safety regulation, analyzing compliance, implementing best practices, implementing effective communication systems for safety and health issues. Participate in and/or lead safety focus teams, coordination industrial Hygiene monitoring and leading and participating in Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Programs (SHARP). Coordinate industrial hygiene, monitor, lead, and participated in Safety, Occupational Health and Safety administration (OSHA). Initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management and six (6) months of experience in executing safety and quality objectives in a manufacturing facility. Experience can be gained concurrently with education. Must have experience: Providing effective professional safety and health support within a manufacturing facility. Maintaining a safety management system and implementing engineering controls. Analyzing compliance, implementing best practices, implementing effective communication systems for safety and health issues, maintaining the safety management system, and implementing engineering controls. Monitor, lead, participate and coordinate in industrial hygiene and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety administration (OSHA). Working with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) state and federal safety regulations. Developing job hazard analysis (JHA) and job safety analysis (JSA) procedures. Auditing safety efforts and participating in and/or lead safety focus teams. Initiating, leading and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
