This position is responsible for ensuring adequate stocking levels of parts and necessary supplies, monitoring inventory and ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations. Supervises, plans, schedules and monitors employees for a 24/7 operation. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules of the RTD Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:    
ESSENTIAL:


  • Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance reviews, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibilities.

  • Identifies and coordinates information with materials management to assure that adequate stocking levels of parts and necessary supplies are maintained for maintenance activities and other departments as required and assists with disposition of problem shipments and daily investigative solutions to part problems.

  • Plans, tracks and maintains warranty parts and the status of the application of warranty parts as related to each fleet of vehicles.

  • Monitors the inventory and deliveries of bulk fluids, including oversight of the bulk tank leak detection system and responsibility to respond to alarms, ensuring compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations (49CFR) for the storage, handling and transporting of hazardous materials.

  • Counsels with Legal, Human Resources and Labor Relations, regarding employee relations issues, policies and procedures and ensures adherence to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Applies the provisions of the Labor Agreement in accordance with guidelines. Participates in the grievance procedures for vehicle maintenance related issues. Reviews and recommends disciplinary actions which may involve termination of represented employees.

  • Assists with ensuring compliance of all Local, State and Federal regulations, including but, not limited to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Fire Department regulations, FMLA and ADA.

Qualifications:    


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in Materials Management preferred.

  •  A minimum of three years of experience working in material planning / purchasing procedures and parts / materials inventory systems.

  •  A minimum of six months experience in a supervisory position.

  •  Proficiency in current inventory control and warehousing methods and systems, shipping and receiving.

  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  •  Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  •  Ability to use sound judgment.

  •  Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

  •  An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay Range:

$59,796.00 - $84,462.00 Annual
