Position: Plant Engineering Manager


Location: Farwell, Michigan


Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire


Salary: Up to $160,000 annually, with relocation assistance available


Schedule: Day shift


Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with management to ensure plant operations and machinery are performing optimally.


• Lead a team of approximately 12 maintenance and tooling professionals.


• Act as a mentor and provide hands-on troubleshooting support when necessary.


• Enhance plant performance metrics, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Industry 4.0 initiatives, through comprehensive analysis and strategic solutions.


• A Bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proficient in industrial machinery, especially control systems and hydraulics, with experience in Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal.


• Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles within a plant setting.


• Knowledgeable in modern reliability practices and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).


• Competent in general computer use.


• Skilled in implementing management objectives into tangible outcomes.

Role Summary: The Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering & Maintenance team, overseeing the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This includes managing projects, upgrades, and maintenance activities to meet production and quality targets.


Duties Include:

• Directing maintenance operations to ensure high machine availability and achievement of key performance indicators.


• Managing downtime incidents and providing strategic interventions.


• Coordinating technician schedules and work assignments across corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance.


• Liaising with management to address operational challenges and enhance plant efficiency.


• Supervising the installation of new machinery and the upgrade of existing equipment.


• Managing engineering, facility, and maintenance budgets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Experience with manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pumps, fluid systems, 480 VAC motors, electrical controls, and robotics.


• Understanding of CMMS and reliability-centered maintenance.


• Familiarity with plant operations, TPM, and maintenance strategies.


• Knowledge of PLC programming (Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens Step7, TIA) is preferred.


• CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) is advantageous.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with seat foam production.


• Background in automotive manufacturing.
