Job Summary

This position will work with the Department of Defense Programs. Department of Defense Programs provide Americans with training in languages and cultures critical to US national security. The Project Manager, DoD Programs executes the daily workflow of diverse programs within IIE under the direction of an IIE Vice President, and can execute with minimal supervision. Manages work related to DoD language and culture focused programs, including application and selection, event planning, grantee advising and support, program monitoring, and financial oversight of a portfolio of partners, alongside related duties necessary to ensure quality implementation of high profile programs. Works with other team members in the execution of core tasks and day-to-day activities, and communicates with program leadership and program teams as well as other relevant team members within IIE on a diverse range of topics. Provides high level administrative support to IIE’s Vice President for DoD programs, represents the programs at events, and manages DoD team calendar, professional development, and tracking of contract deliverables.


Essential Functions:
• Serves as key member of program team to meet seasonal and workflow requirements. Program Manager will serve as main POC for the EHLS Program (English for Heritage Language Speakers Program) and also work within teams to include The Language Flagship, Project GO, Language Training Centers (LTC), and the Boren Awards.
• Represents the program(s) at key events, and assists in the planning and implementation of regional and national events, including pre-departure orientations, board meetings, and council meetings.
• Serves as main point of contact for student participants and partner institutions. Provides ongoing support and advising for participants while on program, including emergency services support and coordinating follow-up communications and actions as necessary
• Communicates regularly with relevant team members within IIE to ensure consistent awareness of work status, and that all program deliverables are met on time.
• Maintains data in Client Relationship Management (CRM), following established processes. Tracks and coordinates participant scholarship payments and grantee payments and agreements.
• Coordinates and analyzes program data to meet sponsor deliverables and ad hoc data requests as needed.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
• Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of international education programs with demonstrated experience advising students or coordinating program components.
• Demonstrated experience with finance and grants, to include processing payments, managing budgets, and completing sponsor facing deliverables.
• Ability to manage priority and emergency issues responsively and with care, demonstrating sound judgement and discretion.
• Demonstrated project management, time management, and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.

Salary Range:$55,043 - $63,988. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
