Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Career Full-Time Opportunity Starting Salary $35,000, or higher, depending on qualifications Virginia Retirement System and Anthem Health Insurance Participant (benefits valued at ~$16,000 - $25,000 annually) The Town is seeking to fill an Operator position at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This position conducts operation and maintenance of the treatment plant and pump stations under the general guidance of the Plant Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Duties and responsibilities include plant operation and monitoring, chemical treatment and pump operations, sludge press operation, sample collection, performing testing protocols, plant and grounds maintenance, completion of status and activity reports, operation of CDL and non-CDL vehicles and equipment, mowers, and be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds regularly. Required education and experience include High School graduation with two (2) years of experience in utility operations/trades/maintenance activities preferred. The ability to operate hand tools and medium equipment is necessary. The successful applicant will have or be able to obtain a Virginia Wastewater Treatment License Class IV (or higher) and Class B or A CDL within eighteen (18) months of employment.
