Summary
Successful candidates will be responsible for on-site installation of low and high voltage systems. This includes assembling, installing, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand and power tools.
Essential Functions
Installation of commercial and industrial electrical systems
Electrical trouble shooting and repair
Being able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time
Maintain a clean and orderly work area;
Keep track of all personal and company owned tools
Ability to use and handle power tools
Work in a team environment with manager, electricians and other electrical helpers
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
Current and valid US drivers license
Personal hand tools required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow instruction
Strong work ethic
Ability to terminate and test category cable and fiber optic cable
Basic knowledge of low voltage principles (ohms law, load calculations, metering, etc.)
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, line diagrams and specifications;
Ability to communicate adequately with customer representatives in the field
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends more than 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Environment
May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker may be subject to frequent heavy lifting. Exposure to various noise levels.
