JOB DESCRIPTION



This position plays a critical role in providing the Operations LT, BU Finance Controller and Group reporting team with timely financial reporting, information and analysis by operating as a business partner to Operations leadership. A key element of this role is to drive various reporting cycles (i.e. month end, budgets and forecasts) and related decision making support through building relationships and promoting close links with Group and regional finance leadership.

A key aspect of the role is ensuring that the BU President of Finance and Financial Controller have the information and analysis that they require, including both routine reports and ad-hoc analysis.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary on results
  • Preparation of budget/forecast reporting including variance analysis and commentary on results
  • Consolidation of the flash report
  • Liaise with Group regarding System administration, maintenance and continual improvement of the Group financial consolidation system which has circa 300 users worldwide, supporting the regional finance teams
  • Responsible for managing direct reports
  • Preparation and review of data to support investor presentations and roadshows
  • Key point of contact for analysis as required by Tax, Treasury, Investor relations and Mergers and Acquisitions teams
  • Other ad hoc project work as directed by the Financial Controller
  • Drive continuous improvement in Financial reporting
  • Providing or facilitating guidance on complex accounting areas across the Operations BU
  • Assist with preparation and close-out of the Group year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors, if necessary
  • Prepare reporting calendar and drive deadlines





QUALIFICATIONS



Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified
  • Professional postgraduate accounting qualification preferred but not required



Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A thorough understanding of Group policies and good knowledge of IFRS.
  • Significant experience (5 years +) in a reporting or other key finance role within a complex global organization
  • Ability to influence and challenge current thinking at the highest levels through clear, informed and logical argument and discussion
  • Ability to manage a developing team, with proven people management skills
  • High levels of cultural awareness, sensitivity and discretion
  • Group & BU financial performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers
  • Corporate governance and decision making
