Overview




This is a seasonal position from April - early November with housing available on Mackinac Island. Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.




Housing and Meal Plan Available at $17/day



The Event Services Coordinator acts as a liaison between the customer, Event Services Managers, and all hotel staff to provide direction and supervision during execution of meeting and banquet functions for events. Will be available to customers and hotel staff during the event to solve problems, provide leadership, direction, and suggest alternatives to previous arrangements. Will directly serve group and catering customers in a proactive manner working with the logistics of group room blocks, food and beverage, public meeting space, and billing processes. Will work with vendors along with the Event Services Manager for smooth transition to on island operations and event execution. Will assist with invoicing, deposit collection, some detailing and checking over final invoices along with onsite Banquet implementation and client relations.



Qualifications





  • Some college is preferred

  • 1 year of food and beverage event experience is preferred.

  • Developed business communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Understanding/knowledge of Microsoft office.

  • Confident and professional appearance.

  • Proactive approach, assertive and fast paced, driven to succeed.

  • Execute and support Hotel Customer Service Standards and Hotel's Brand Standards.

  • Work well under pressure.

  • Time management skills. Being able to work on multiple projects with desired outcome for each.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.



  • Experience with major Hospitality Sales CRM system, i.e. Delphi, Daylight and/or brand CRM such as Marriott CI/TY or Starwood ISAC is preferred.
