Senior Scheduler - Rail & Transit at Michael Baker Engineering Inc in New York, New York

Job Description:

The Senior Scheduler interfaces with MTA Independent Engineering Consultant (IEC) project managers and Agency project managers and schedulers, attends progress meetings, and provides weekly and monthly status reports on assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review project schedules submitted to the IEC.
• Provide analysis of such schedules to IEC project managers including, interpretation and criticism of schedules' shortcomings where appropriate.
• Ability to perform "what if analysis" and develop and interpret resource loaded schedules for WBS elements when required.
• Ability to analyze probabilistic and deterministic critical path activities and interpret potential impacts to the project schedules submitted by contractors.
• Ability to maintain and track complex multi discipline projects with large quantity of activities using Primavera P6 software and communicate project schedule recovery or slippage.
• Attend project progress meetings as requested by IEC project managers.
• Attend risk assessment workshops as requested by IEC project managers. Provide objective input and explanation regarding risks and there linkage to the project schedule.
• Assist project managers in compiling schedule content and interpretation for their project reports.
• Attend project meetings on behalf of IEC project managers where appropriate. Provide IEC presence at such meetings and obtain latest schedule versions.
• Contribute to meeting discussion of projects schedule updates and revisions, suggesting improvements as appropriate.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. When visiting project job sites, report all unsafe activities to the client, site safety manager and Project Director.
• Responsible for the following, as required, including but not limited to: writing and typing correspondence, routing interoffice mail, answering phones, filing, faxing, mailing, maintaining correspondence and other archived records as necessary, processing and proofreading.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Attend site visits with the intent to interpret field progress and provide appropriate schedule analysis to project managers
• Perform other duties as requested.

• Possess a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related. Advanced degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures is a plus.
• Minimum 25+ years of related experience managing schedules.
• Prior experience supporting MTA projects is required.
• Possess strong verbal, written, presentation and excellent client management skills.
• Excellent time management skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations.
• MS Office Suite (including MS Project desired) & Primavera Software

The approximate compensation range for this position is $176,800 to $187,200. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
