Our client is an AmLaw 200 firm with practice areas ranked by Chambers and Best Lawyers both nationally and regionally across the country. Their emphasis on hiring is to bring on attorneys with great experience and give them a place to apply it, as well as a clear path to partnership and growth. The firm is seeking a litigation attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its Fidelity Surety & Coverage business unit.
THE POSITION
Candidates in this role can expect to:
Manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from inception to resolution.
Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and arbitrations.
Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
Provide strategic legal advice to clients and colleagues.
Stay current with legal developments and industry trends relevant to litigation practice areas.
Required qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school.
License to practice law in Texas.
Practical or legal knowledge regarding the construction industry.
Preferred: Prior experience with construction disputes, mechanics' liens, and/or preparing and negotiating construction contracts and other construction documents.
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, benefitted position. Base compensation DOE.
