Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs a full range of professional accounting duties for the Accounts Receivable function. Work may involve performing a wide variety of accounting tasks and reconciliations related to the collections, invoicing, statistics, & reporting of the airport tenants. 

COMPENSATION: $80,000 and up based on experience.

 POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

·         Analyzes accounting and fiscal data, records and reports for all revenue generating agreements and contracts across the airport, including but not limited to airlines, rental cars, and concessionaires

·         Tracks and reports statistics related to passenger enplanement activity, passenger facility charge reports, concessions gross receipts, etc.

·         Prepares revenue invoices ($300+ million) for the Authority’s active agreements/leases (350+) and ensures transactions post to proper fiscal periods and accounts including moving funds across functional business units within assigned department/agency.

·         Reviews monthly airlines statistical reports for accuracy, invoicing, and to identify activity trends

·         Audits report accuracy versus Authority systems to ensure the Authority receives accurate revenue

·         Manages Reporting Portal and coordinates with Authority staff to ensure that the portal reflects active agreements configuration and appropriate financial values to ensure accurate revenue and reporting

·         Assists in the collections process monthly

·         Tracks and reviews remittance of Customer Facility Charge and Passenger Facility Charge reports to ensure compliance

·         Record miscellaneous journal entries for non-invoiced revenue

·         Correspond with all major tenants of the airport to ensure accurate and timely financial and statistical data and sales are reported

·         Assist in software upgrades, testing, and validation

·         May direct, supervise, and review the work of subordinate staff.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline. 

·         Four (4) years of related experience as a professional accountant in receivables. 

·         An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Master’s Degree, Preferred

·        Ability to read a contract and interpret the financial terms of the agreement

·        Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. 

·         Ability to maintain work-related records and prepare reports.

·         Proven ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment with associates.  

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

 

REQUIRED FOR ALL HCAA JOBS 

·         In the event of an emergency or disaster that impacts the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA), an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department or the HCAA Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Such assignments may be before, during, or after the emergency/disaster.
