The Ascend Learning Healthcare Segment leads the way in innovation and solution creation to improve outcomes and deliver results for students, educators, and healthcare workers in the ever-changing field of healthcare. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Ascend Learning is hiring a Test Development Trainer. This position is responsible for working independently to create, maintain, and edit training schedules and documentation for Ascend Learning test developers. The Test Development Trainer will coordinate with Test Development manager(s) to develop and maintain training schedules and materials for new test developers and continuing development and training for existing test developers. Coordination across various departments is required, specifically working with IT and Psychometrics to ensure any new processes are accounted for in test development training materials and process documentation and checklists. The Test Development Trainer must maintain checklists and procedure documents and work with test developers on development matrices to ensure ongoing professional development and learning.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position offers flexibility of remote work within the United States or candidates can work from our Leawood, KS office hybrid location.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

• Coordinate with various resource teams to create, test, and release new functionality, prevent incidents, and troubleshoot IT-related issues


• Provide administration and management of internal databases


• Show initiative for resolution activities and improving existing processes


• Develop and maintain training and professional development schedules for test developers


• Develop and maintain checklists and procedure documents

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Bachelor’s Degree required


• Two years’ editing experience required


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office


• 12-18 months of experience as a Test Developer


• Demonstrated ability to work independently


• Ability to trouble shoot and solve problems using available resources


• Ability to communicate effectively


• Knowledge of editing and proofreading


• Ability to plan and organize work, set priorities, and direct own activities


• Desire to take accountability of projects and quality


• Ability to understand and interpret item statistics


• Understanding of basic HTML coding


• Expertise in maintenance of internal databases


• Familiarity with interconnectedness of testing platforms (creation, delivery, staging, etc.) and backend processes


• Ability to coordinate with various resource groups to document process changes and training needs


• Ability to communicate project workflow and task, and simplify complex processes


• Ability to effectively provide instruction and oversight of new test developers and monitor training and remediation
