Job Description:

Reporting to the CIO the ITD Technical Assistant will research and recommend technology purchases for departments, enter purchase requisitions, track orders, and process invoices. In addition, this person will be responsible for bookkeeping of all IT accounts and provide the CIO with budget status reports and projections.



  • Research and recommend technology purchases for departments.

  • Serve as the primary purchaser for the IT Department and assists with obtaining quotes for other campus departments for IT related equipment; submits orders; resolves problems, prepares returns, schedules pickup as needed and assists with recording receipt and disbursement of equipment.

  • Maintains purchase requests, software licensing, and communication needed in support of the ITD department.

  • Initiates job request to the Help Desk for the deployment of equipment including providing direction as needed to complete tasks submitted.

  • Works with other staff and vendors to obtain license renewal quotes in advance of expiration dates to ensure timely software renewals.

  • Performs basic bookkeeping duties to track budget balances and prepare related reports for CIO review.

  • Other related duties as may be assigned.


  • REQUIRED:


  • Knowledge of current technology specifications for both Mac and PC computers;

  • Knowledge of peripheral equipment and specifications for connecting devices, such as printers, scanners, etc. for proper interoperability with PCs and Macs;

  • 2-3 years prior office level experience, including bookkeeping responsibilities;

  • Spreadsheet, word processing, electronic calendar scheduling - Preferably with Google Applications (Docs, Drive, Calendar, etc.);

  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize;

  • Independent worker;

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing;

  • Customer service minded;

  • Attention to detail.

    Part-Time, Non-Benefited Position





    Compensation: $20.00/hour; no benefits

    Hours: 18.5 hours/week; flexible hours



    - All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. HCC is not sponsoring H1B Visa.
