Classroom Helper - Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers Summer Program at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Florida

Job Description:

HIRING SALARY: $15 per hour.

HOURS: Training (as scheduled). Four-week summer camp (June 3 - June 28, 2024| Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM). Summer camp work hours are allowed to be part time and must be consistent for the four-week duration.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Assist classroom instructors with supervision and reinforcing learning concepts. Escort students when transitioning to various areas. These duties will be conducted in-person and on TCC's main campus.

The Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers Program was created to teach middle school students next-generation technology, STEM, and entrepreneurship skills through hands-on, interactive instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Promote a strong learning culture among all project participants.


• Nurture student opportunities for leadership in technology and STEM.


• Help students stay on task.


• Reiterating directions given by the classroom instructor.


• Aiding students with technology concerns.


• Perform Chaperone Duties at 4 Off-Site Field Trips during summer camp (June 3 - June 28, 2024).

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• Complete training by leading experts.


• Ability to address access and equity issues with an individual.


• Must be at least 18 years of age.
