Title: Temporary - Departmental Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the Welcome Center and Career Services staff with a variety of clerical and administrative functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains employment postings and events via the College Central Network, the College's online career management system. Monitors the Career Services email inbox. Greets and assists Welcome Center and Career Services visitors. Performs a variety of general clerical and administrative duties.

Assists with events sponsored by Welcome Center and Career Services, including marketing, coordination, set up/tear down, etc. of events. Schedules and confirms appointments. Assists with maintaining and updating the office's social media sites. Assists with graduate tracking activities by making phone calls and documenting status updates. Checks department mailbox and distributes mail.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED

1 year of experience in an office, retail, hospitality or other customer service role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience creating marketing materials for events.

Intermediate or advanced computer skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to learn quickly and take on new projects. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative and multi-task. Experience with Microsoft Office. Effective time management skills.

Rate of Pay: $13.00 per hour.

Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week.
