Position Summary:
Pima Community College's Office of Sponsored Programs Awards& Contracts (OSPAC) Team invites applications for the position of ContractOfficer. OSPAC is responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts or any otheragreements based on period of performance on behalf of Pima Community College(PCC). PCC reviews over three hundred new/renewal contracts each year and hasover one thousand active contracts. The Contract Officer is responsible for theprocessing and negotiation of complex agreements related to funding fromFederal, State, and local governments, Industry, non-profits, and academia. Thesuccessful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, collaborative, criticalthinking skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverseconstituency, along with the ability to time manage and prioritize work withintight deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews, negotiates, and processes complex agreements in a timely manner.
Communication may occur across colleges, divisions, or departments, and externally and requires the ability to communicate with management, leadership, and other key stakeholders.
Serves as a liaison with PCC academic programs, procurement, facilities, IT Departments, and external sponsors.
Performs work without appreciable direction.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
Works collaboratively with Sponsored Program team members and General Counsel to address and or resolve contract development issues.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, sponsor of specific policies, publication rights, intellectual property, etc.
Ensures College agreements comply with relevant legal, policy and accreditation requirements.
Project management skillset.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, or a closely related field of study and
Three to five years of related experience in contracting
or
An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred:
Juris Doctor, Master's degree in Law, Public Policy, or a closely related field of study
Five to eight years of related experience in contracting
