What you will be doing: 


  • The Proof & Control Specialist is responsible for the daily reconciliation certain check processing General Ledgers including, the bank deposit, ITM check GL, savings bond GLs, Zelle, Bill Payment, Debit Card, ATM and remote capture GLs.

  • The Proof & Control Specialist is responsible for the daily reconciliation of all ATM/ITM machines.  The on and off premise ATM and ITM reconciliations are reconciled daily.  The ATM GL Settlement and Deposits in Process Reconciliation includes the monitoring of the activity in all the machines. Additionally, they will be responsible to address and rectify member and machine discrepancies; as well as identify and implement corrective action. The ATM reconciliation process may include various GLs that interwork with the ATM GLs, including Deposits in Process GLs, check GLs and the Teller Center Clearing GL.

  • The position is responsible for other settlement GLs as assigned, including but not limited to the Zelle Reconciliation, Mortgage Satisfaction Reconciliation, and Cashbox balancing reports.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements, offer innovative solutions, and/or policy changes when appropriate to increase overall department efficiency.

  • The position should adhere to the credit union’s Account Reconciliation Policies and Procedures.

  • The position should work to have minimal differences and ensure that differences are reported to the appropriate level of management and written off or up according to the credit union’s Account Reconciliation Policies and Procedures.

What we need from you:



  • Minimum of two years of work experience with settlements and reconciliations. 




  •  General accounting experience preferred; four-year degree a plus in a business, accounting, finance or related field.




  •   Have general strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 




  •  Satisfactory written and verbal communication skills. 




  •  Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and ability to take initiative.




Work From Home and Hybrid Requirements:  This particular position is Hybrid and requires in-office / plus work from home days to our offices in Westbury, New York:


  • Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net)

  • Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.

  • All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset)
