The Sr. Financial Analyst serves as the primary financial resource to an assigned business unit, partnering with division leaders and across all levels of the organization to provide financial management.
Responsibilities
Utilize sound business knowledge and consultative skills to provide the information, insight, and guidance required to effectively influence and operate the business
Identify and address the financial impact of business decisions and strategic initiatives during the monthly forecasting and annual planning processes
Lead respective areas of focus during the long- and short-term financial planning processes while supporting the process for the respective business unit
Drive/own cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining, and presentation support to improve overall business results
Establish and publish weekly and monthly financial and operational performance metrics
Provide business analysis and insights and process leadership across key areas such as business decision support, planning & forecasting, and business performance & reporting
Demonstrate continuous improvement by working cross functionally with other Finance, Accounting, and IT partners to improve monthly and annual forecasting and reporting processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related area (Accounting, Finance, Business, etc.); MBA preferred
4+ years of experience in a financial support role; retail environment helpful
Strong analytical skills coupled with an ability to interpret and communicate findings.
Strong financial modeling and forecasting abilities and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Ability to influence decision makers and team members to drive results
Innate inquisitiveness relative to process workings and financial results
Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with desire to see personal and organizational effort lead to bottom line results
Knowledge of financial processes and internal controls
Comfortable working independently and in collaborative manner in a cross-functional environment
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Advanced Excel skills (including: Subtotaling, Filtering, Data Sort, LookUp Tables, Pivot Tables, Charting) and other MS office applications; ability to model business requirements and prepare "what-if" analysis
