Job Description:

The Course Production Specialist is responsible for managing curriculum production, scheduling, and implementation across all of Babson's curriculum including online, blended and hybrid programs, such as the Blended Learning MBA, and the upcoming DBA program. Specifically responsible for overseeing the production and quality assurance testing of online and blended courses; creating production checklists and testing scripts; partnering with ATI Center Instructional Designers to design, develop, and produce learning management system templates for graduate, undergraduate and executive programs; providing technical support to faculty; training faculty and staff in the use of academic technology tools; and developing training materials for student and faculty intranet sites.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Manage the scheduling, development, and execution of all production tasks associated with fully online and blended courses to ensure on-time delivery, including the oversight of quality assurance testing, and providing appropriate training for production and QA staff.

  • Replicate individual courses and all related components within a learning management system, ensuring accurate and timely duplication in preparation for production.

  • Design production checklists and testing scripts to be used by QA staff; ensure that checklists and scripts are catching errors and adjust continuously to ensure courses are built accurately upfront.

  • Experiment with course design UI for an optimal student experience

  • Recommend alternative options for new and existing courses to ensure faculty and class needs are met.

  • Collaborate with faculty and academic program directors to analyze, recommend, and design e-Learning and blended solutions for Babson's academic programs.

  • Create training materials on learning management systems, synchronous web conference tools, and other academic technology; create, maintain, and provide ongoing training and materials for student workers, faculty and staff.

  • Create and design new, and update existing, digital content including but not limited to template courses and associated discussion boards, training materials on the student and faculty hub websites, and blogs and web content to further the ATI Center intranet web presence.

  • Assist in keeping content updated on the faculty portal including how-to guides and video-based instructional content.

  • Administer ad-hoc support and testing of new technology rollouts as they pertain to online and blended courses; note issues and conflicts that may arise; and work closely with other members of the ATI Center to correct any potential issues or areas of concern.

  • Provide technical support for faculty at Babson.

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field

Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in eLearning or technology field

Must have a strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems and solid technical skills

Must have a demonstrated knowledge of process improvement

Must be detailed-oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must have the ability to analyze information and present it to various constituencies

Must be very comfortable with technology and learning new technologies

Must be a self-starter, a problem-solver, be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, and set and meet deadlines

Ability to be flexible and willing to take on additional project tasks when needed

Must be a team player and have an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to be part of a world-class organization

Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.

Must be able to complete projects and work effectively without constant oversight.

Ability to manage multiple projects of varying priorities at one time

Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week; the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.

Occasionally, evenings/weekends required (approximately 2 to 4 times a year)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE


  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of small or large groups

  • Proficient in SharePoint team and communication sites

  • Experience working with faculty as well as instructional designers

  • Knowledge of project management tools a plus

  • Cidilabs/DesignPlus a plus

  • HTML and CSS knowledge a plus
