We are seeking a Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator for our Biddeford, Maine location who will be responsible for all material handling, shipping, receiving, and logistics activities being performed in a timely and accurate manner. This position will work in close cooperation with the Production, Purchasing, Quality, Compliance, Sales/Marketing and Accounting departments.

Essential Functions:
Receiving
Coordinate, receive and sign for incoming shipments and assist to ensure a secure and safe unloading of products and materials
Compare identifying information and count; weigh, or measure items to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, report and secure damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Able to receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit. Notify Quality Manager, Operations Manager and Compliance Manager of any defective or damaged goods/materials.
Warehouse
Support the control process for customer owned, US Government owned, and consigned property with proper traceability, inventory control, and security of materials.
Placement of goods after goods receipt
Picking of goods for sales or production orders and replenish materials to fill Kanban notice
Transfer of parts within the warehouse or factory
Perform periodic inventory of all stock
Ensure a suitable storage system for all products including labeling
Ability to research and resolve critical inventory matters.
General restocking activities
Shipping
Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Coordinate the timely shipment of goods to customers in compliance with customer requirements, determine when alternate shipping arrangements must be made to meet customer requirements
Maintain an adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order which is conveyed
Logistics
Coordinate with international suppliers and freight forwarding companies to receive shipment notifications and track shipments through country of origin export and CONUS import process.
Review inbound shipment export/import documentation packages for compliance with statutory and regulatory compliance.
Develop export documentation packages in compliance with statutory and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate outbound shipments with both domestic and international carriers and freight forwarding companies.
Receive inbound shipment notification of service orders and initiate the service order development for tracking and control of customer or government owned property.
Inspect received service materials for accuracy of customer/US Government traceability information (serial numbers/product identifiers).
Close out and invoice service and upgrade orders through an ERP system and generate customer specific reports such as XML and FRACAR and send to the customer.
General
Determine labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, prepare and affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required. Prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
Process transactions in ERP system including manufacturing orders, repairs, and warranty returns
Support and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations & policies.
Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.

Background Prerequisites

Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in the English language
Very detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to meet departmental demands
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
Must be capable of estimating weight, and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.
Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment
Must be a licensed forklift truck operator or have the ability to receive license.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, preferably customers and vendors as well.
With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to quickly reprioritize work based on shifting demands and ensure timely completion of all work tasks
Education:
High school education or equivalent
Experience:
1 to 2 years’ experience in a shipping/receiving or administrative role requiring strict adherence to specifications or regulations.

Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting or use of other means for movement of boxes.
Ability to drive a forklift
Frequent standing, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers can also be expected.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis is required.
Extensive Keyboarding
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.
Proficiency using ERP software, such as Navision, for shipping/receiving/inventory functions.
Familiarity with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
