Overview

The MEP Engineering Manager will manage the implementation of engineering practices and detailing during the development and construction phases to facilitate standardization throughout projects for the purpose of increasing efficiencies and mitigate costs, delays and other potential construction related risks. His/her responsibilities include development of improvements to Resia standard design and construction means and methods, supervise, review, sign, and seal construction documents, as well as the review of outside consultant's submissions for conformity with the directives set forth by Resia, sound engineering practice, value engineering and code compliance all related to the field of MEP Engineering. The MEP Engineering Manager reports directly to the VP of Design.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of MEP system designs in-house, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and Resia standards.
  • Assure compliance with Building Codes in all regions / locations where Resia works (FL, TX, and GA).
  • Stay abreast of changes in building codes and regulations, ensuring MEP systems adhere to the latest standards.
  • Provide expertise in the integration of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems into overall building plans.
  • Conduct calculations and energy analyses for MEP systems.
  • Supervise, review, sign, and seal construction documents.
  • Supervise and review complex engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Review outside consultant's work to ensure code compliance, construction means and methods and value engineering opportunities when applicable.
  • Perform MEP design related studies for potential value-engineering items.
  • Ensure design is executed within budget and on schedule.
  • Perform post project summary with respect to MEP work. This summary includes both items that were successful as well as items that need to be addressed on subsequent projects.
  • Implement quality control measures for MEP installations during concept and documents of construction.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with other engineers, architects, and construction teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to project teams.
  • Support construction administration team (C.A.) to address and resolve any design or construction issues promptly.
  • Support estimate team in the cost estimation for MEP components.
  • Support project budgets, offering cost-effective solutions where possible.
  • Support the Innovation Team in creating solutions to prefabricated MEP Kits.

Support Resia manufacture plan to address and solve any design issues.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of ten years' experience in the construction industry, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in MEP design and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in BIM and relevant software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Knowledge And Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, plans, plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence of project areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to express ideas clearly and objectively, orally and in writing.
  • Needs to have initiative, be self-motivated and understand the importance of being proactive and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and update schedules, create reports, and provide analysis.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office , AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Revit preferred.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven project management expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
