Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Process Project Engineer specializing in resource recovery and renewable biogas projects. The Process Project Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects from conception to completion. This role requires a strong background in project management, fundamental experience in process engineering, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop sustainable wastewater treatment solutions that include pioneering anaerobic biotechnology.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination
  • Manage Engineering Design and Construction interactions with PurposeEnergy teams and third-party partners.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of engineering team project activities, resources, document reviews, and timelines to ensure timely completion within budget and scope.

Resource Allocation and Management:
  • Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project activities and ensure efficient utilization.
  • Communicate regularly with various project stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and resolve issues to ensure project deliverables adhere to project schedules.

Technical Design and Engineering
  • Partner with the Head of Procurement to ensure timely delivery and installation of project materials, equipment, and vendor services.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through successful start-up.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate project delays and deviations from plan and assure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, meeting minutes, technical documentation, and design changes.
  • Prepare regular status reports and presentations for project team members and stakeholders to communicate project status, achievements, and challenges.

Commissioning and Startup
  • Oversee the commissioning and startup of process systems and equipment, including testing, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams to facilitate a smooth transition from construction to operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in process engineering at all stages of industrial project execution (i.e., FEL 1 through construction, start-up, and operation)
  • Experience with major industrial projects, preferably resource recovery facilities, biogas production, nutrient removal, and related treatment processes.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive bid analysis inclusive of scope, cost, schedule, and quality proposal evaluation on complex contracts.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing business environment with tight schedules and demanding targets.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Effective communication skills - able to effectively convey technical concepts orally and in writing to a broad range of work groups and stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Experience with construction of industrial scale wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, and RNG facilities; Understanding of electricity and RNG markets; Industrial food manufacturing experience specifically related to wastewater systems.

?Travel:
  • Based in our Headquarters in Salem, NH - possibility of hybrid or remote.
  • Typical travel (25%); up to 50% travel in a given month.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $100,000-$120,000 depending on relevant experience.
