LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST 


POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE


Responsible for executing the full spectrum of the ADDIE design model to deliver training that drives performance at a best-in-class organization. This position will provide support for our training function as well as support for the L&D strategy to drive the organizational development of the business. The Learning and Development Specialist partners with the business to analyze needs, identify gaps, and design tailored programs encompassing onboarding, role-specific training, professional development, and more, to enable employees with the essential knowledge, skills, techniques, and motivation to perform and service our customers at the highest level. This role leverages time and project management skills and requires a strong ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, while also understanding and applying adult learning principles and methodologies


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Facilitates and supports the instructional design process for work groups across the organization using ADDIE methodology, with a focus on developing comprehensive training programs for onboarding, role-based training, leadership development and other learning initiatives.

  • Leads the development of engaging, efficient, and effective learning experiences aligned with organizational and departmental initiatives.

  • Conducts training sessions to optimize skill development and encourage expected behavior of participants.

  • Assists in development of standardized learning processes, procedures, and templates.

  • Proactively engages with departments across the organization to ensure new release training and other required product changes are integrated into LMS and incorporated into existing content as needed.

  • Supports the management of the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure alignment with corporate policies and protocols, track and report on curriculum, and design and maintain learning assets within the LMS.

  • Coordinates and facilitates Train-the-Trainer efforts.

  • Supports company-wide business initiatives for growth and retention by serving as a team resource.

  • Provides logistical support for training events including scheduling, planning, and operation of these events for remote locations.

  • Coordinates and facilitates in-person and virtual meetings/classes/events using virtual delivery tools such as Zoom.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)



  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field.

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an instructional designer and/or trainer/facilitator in a corporate setting.

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult education principles, including the ADDIE model.2+ years’ experience in working with a Learning Management System.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; technical communication a plus.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, written/verbal presentation, and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

  • Creative problem solver who uses data to make informed decisions.

  • Ability to support the implementation of new processes and identify training gaps and offer solutions.

  • Advanced skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Experience with instructional training technology platforms such as Articulate, Storyline, etc.

  • Experience working with video creation software or graphic design experience helpful.

  • Remote work experience a plus.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
