Job Summary


The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the daily operations and processes of the accounts receivable (A/R) team.

Essential Position Functions


1. Supports A/R team with complex and high-value deduction cases that require in-depth research and resolution. This includes investigating discrepancies and managing disputes with customers.


2. Engages customers, brokers, sales staff, or managers as required to resolve issues; this includes requesting and collecting repayment of invalid deductions, identifying trends, and resolving issues which cause invalid deductions.


3. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the A/R team, including coaching, training, and performance management.


4. Monitors and reports out on customer deductions and team productivity, balancing A/R workload to ensure timely and accurate accounts receivable processing.


5. Performs analysis over A/R aging to present to sales leadership and upper management.


6. Leads special projects related to billing and deduction processing, including implementing technology solutions and process improvements.


 


Education and Experience


1. Bachelor’s degree in related field, 5 or more years’ experience in Credit/Trade deductions, and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.  Food industry is preferred.


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


1. Project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives. 


2. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information in understandable terms at all levels of the organization.


3. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with people both individually and in groups to resolve conflicts.


4. Strong PC and 10-key skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas, and linked worksheets.


5. Ability to work in a multi-task environment with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and specific time constraints.


6. Ability to adapt to the business’ changing needs. 


7. Requires attention-to-detail and accuracy.


 


Physical Demands and Working Conditions


1. Office environment. 


2. Flexible schedule may be required based on business needs.


3. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer required while in the office.


This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
