We are looking for a Learning Design Manager to join our growing global Learning function. The right person for the role will be able to balance two main objectives: masterfully creating world class learning content and guiding the instructional design team members across the globe to help projects come to life. What You'll Do


  • Cultivate a collaborative learning culture and growth mindset by bringing team members and their ideas together to impact organizational performance and effectiveness.

  • Co-create learning plans with leaders in strategy, industry experts, enterprise function practitioners and, business intelligence professionals to shape and recommend innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies.

  • Utilize expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and educational technologies to enhance performance of members through the development of blended learning offerings and training materials.

  • Apply your knowledge across multiple development approaches to produce learning solutions and courses in a wide variety of formats including eLearning, virtual, classroom, simulations, job aids, videos, On-the-Job training, and assessments.

  • Consult and collaborate with SMEs on course design and development by gathering requirements from stakeholders, completing needs analysis, identifying resources needed, then developing training materials and solutions.

  • Partner with People Team leads in the businesses to create learning paths, courses, and training materials through innovative learning activities that align requirements, competencies, and knowledge gaps to produce desired behaviors and business results.

  • Guide content development teams and coach content authors and learning team members in instructional design and adult learning concepts.


Key Responsibilities



Define ID standards, processes, and tools for the organization

  • Define, maintain, and continually improve the learning development processes to enable efficient design and production in defined formats with maximum reuse

  • Research, assess, implement, and manage learning & development plans, courses, programs, and instructional technology

  • Research, assess, implement, and manage outsourced and contracted Learning & Development services such as training facilitation, workshops, and instructional design services

  • Maintain a keen understanding of learning & development industry trends and best practices; investigates new training methodologies, authoring tools, delivery methods, and content Develop success metrics to assess the effectiveness and business impact of training solutions, measure results and propose action plans for continuous improvement.

  • Use ROI methods to measure business outcomes and present to management teams the value of training.

  • Ensure the availability of business reports and metrics pertaining to program activities and progress that inform management decision-making.

  • Ensure learning content is engaging, creative and innovative, while maintaining the instructional integrity of learning.

Identify needs and lead specification of design in conjunction with Key Stakeholders

  • Manage L&D projects: identify and analyze needs; prioritize and plan work activities with timelines; define the scope of work, business requirements and key deliverables; collaborate and communicate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the organization at all levels

  • Work consultatively with Business and People Team leads to assess learning needs and develop L&D work specifications which can be effectively delivered on time and on budget

  • Manage, analyze, and prioritize Learning & Development, training, and Instructional Design requests

  • Ensure a collaborative relationship between LX designers and stakeholders to ensure the design and timing meet requirements

  • Identify and share the risks with the Project Leads/Functional Manager to discuss possible solutions/mitigations/alternatives.

  • Connect with stakeholders in review meetings to assess the effectiveness of each project, collecting feedback and learning points to enable continual improvement



  • Lead and direct trainers in the network to deploy the new program identified as core needs of the business.

  • Build and cultivate relationships with learning leadership and key stakeholders to create a future where learning communities of practice, knowledge management, learning outcomes and development are sought out and a vital part of future initiatives

  • Work closely with the other L&D leaders to identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths and consultation with all leaders across the organization.

  • Develop and implement training programs to support implementation of transformational programs and capabilities and drive culture change and employee competence readiness to support the new way of working.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Training and Organizational Development, Adult Education or other relevant discipline required. Master's degree desirable.

  • Minimum of 7 years designing and delivering adult learning content, including experience developing content for blended training programs throughout their lifecycle (production - deployment - maintenance).

  • Proven knowledge in industry standard design/rapid authoring tools such as Articulate/Captivate/InDesign/Camtasia/Vyond/WalkMe and be comfortable with proprietary authoring tools. An ideal candidate should be well-versed with the technical functionalities and limitations of these tools.

  • A consultative approach: the ability to develop rapport and trust with system end users.

  • Experience working on a large-scale project in a multi-site / global based environment with multiple subject matter experts.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a global role.

  • Working knowledge of learning management systems.

  • Knowledge of standard practices in training measurement and evaluation.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Management / supervisory experience; able to influence others, ability to direct, empower, lead others and hold employees accountable.

  • Proven ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks within defined timelines.
