Job Description:

Braun Intertec is seeking a Vice President of Operations to join our 100% employee-owned firm! The person who fills this role will create an impact within our organization by providing direction and leadership of the Braun Intertec geotechnical drilling activities across our entire footprint. Our ideal candidate will be someone that has a passion for leadership, with 10+ years of experience in a role managing and leading field based operations. The candidate should be looking for an opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing, employee-owned organization.


Braun Intertec Drilling performs subsurface investigations for geotechnical and environmental purposes within the central portion of the United States. A subsurface investigation can involve collecting soil, rock, groundwater samples, and logging the field data. These investigations take place over a wide variety of terrain, conditions, and weather, utilizing various equipment. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for the direction and supervision of the Braun Intertec drilling activities across our entire footprint.

  • Safety:


    • Partnering with Braun Intertec leadership and our Safety Department in maintaining a culture founded upon safety and quality.

    • Management, implementation and execution of best practices, incorporating a safety first mentality; including management of our Drilling Quality Management Systems (QMS).

    • Monitor and ensure our personnel and equipment comply with Local, State and Federal DOT regulations.

    • Accountable to fully participate and support all safety initiatives, training, and policies.





  • Service:


    • Meeting and exceeding our Client expectations (to our Clients and to internal Team members), while partnering with all project Team members in being the Consultant of Choice.

    • Assisting our Engineering & Testing Division personnel with scoping and pricing.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to creating an inclusive workplace and actively support initiatives in our DEI Strategic Plan.





  • Ownership


    :


    • Partnering with the Engineering & Testing Division to establish strategic direction and top line revenue goals for our Drilling Department.

    • Ownership and management of our Drilling Department's operating expenses, capital expenses and facilities expenses.

    • Providing oversight and direction to our Drilling Department regarding equipment maintenance and purchasing, inventory management, fleet management/maintenance, and efficient cross-utilization amongst our business units.





  • Opportunity


    :


    • Partnering with our Corporate Services groups to attract, recruit and develop Drilling team members.

    • Manage and continually improve our onboarding program for all new personnel.

    • Providing direction and oversight of technical training and development of the Drilling Department.

    • Continually evaluate new drilling technologies and/or services.

    • Partnering with leadership in setting strategic direction for the growth and innovation of our drilling department







  • Recognition


    :


    • Management of our Recognition programs for our Drilling Department

    • Leadership of our Drilling Department supervisors, ensuring that our employees are receiving appropriate oversight, direction, and recognition









Required Education and Experience




  • 10-15 years of experience leading and managing teams in field based operations

  • Experience leading and managing groups of 40+ employees

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Experience with multi-state fleet management

  • Previous tenure in roles that require accountability to one or more P&L(s)

  • Experience in a geotechnical or environmental drilling environment is preferred






**Braun Intertec is open to considering candidates also at the Director level for this position. Candidates who don't fully meet the criteria for the Vice President role may still be considered for a Director level role, with the opportunity for fast-paced growth through experience and mentorship**





Work/Environment and Physical Requirements




  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Generally an office environment, site visits are often required







Travel Requirements




  • With an employee base that is located across United States, the employee will be expected to travel as needed (average of 25%, outside of the metro area).

  • Travel may be more extensive during the first year in order to establish oneself appropriately in the role
