We are searching for a motivated & experienced Director of Human Resources professional to join our bakery family.
The Human Resources Director guides and manages the overall provisions of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company. Develops and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a engaged and motivated workforce. The Director coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; and serves on the executive management team; and assists, advises and coaches managers about Human Resources compliance, issues and concerns.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following:
Develops and administers policies, programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.Responsible for managing Companywide Recruiting/staffing activities and strategy, to attract, retain and develop top talent.Manages overall performance management program and systems, emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and high performance, includingperformance development plans(PDPs) and employee development programsCollaborates with management to develop/update organization development/training programs and materials to create/develop a engaged workforce; including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports, as well as measurement of training impact; to include monitoring the spending of the corporate training budget; succession planning.Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the Company's goals and promotes an employee satisfactionIdentifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the Company's goals and promotes an employee satisfactionResponsible for Companywide risk management and compliance including workers compensation, immigration, safety, DOL laws and all other regulatory requirementsManages the total Rewards Program including compensation and 401K, benefits administration, to ensure competitive wages and benefits, as well as FLSA compliance, to attract and retain top talentRecommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed atemployee satisfaction and retention.Establishes the company wage and salary structure,pay policies, and oversees thevariable paysystems within the Company including bonuses and raisesLeads the charge on employee safety/welfare, as well as wellness and health; building a culture and behaviors to assure a safe working environment for employees.Ensures employee orientation, on-boarding, and on the job- training are provided through support to all new hires, and competitive to other organizations; ensuring safety culture assimilationFacilitates Company-wide committees to improve culture and employee satisfactionDevelops and recommends, Company and community communications; Manages employee communication and feedback through such avenues as Company meetings, suggestion programs,employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet useLeads the leadership and career development initiative for all employeesContinues to develop Human Resources department, as well as personal ongoing development, thru available tools and resources such as SHRM and other membershipsLeads competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staffMonitors all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containmentManages Human Capital Systems (HCM) to align all HR disciplines and provide a through communication tool for all employees through the entire life cycle of their career. Includes, but not limited to: Performance Management, payroll, Time & Attendance, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Benefits, Employee On-boarding, Learning Management System (LMS), Merit and Compensation modules.Leads participation in at least one salary survey per yearManages all Grant Compliance, federal and state, to secure available funding, and tax credits; NJEDA compliance, and State training grantsReviews proposals for state, federal and local regulatory compliance, is authorized to submit proposals on behalf of Europastry USA, as well as negotiate terms and conditions of the award with all federal, state, local and other agenciesRecommends, reviews, and implements recognition and reward programs Works with management to identify sources for Charitable givingManages all employee relations strategies and outcomes, to ensure compliance and mitigate legal ramificationsImplements and sets policies and training on performance management, employee relations sexual harassment, counseling, coaching, interviewing, and compliance.Interviews management- and executive-level candidates; serves as an interviewerfor position finalistsChairs any employee selection committees or meetingsStays current in knowledge of government and customer requirements; ensure safety programs up to date with all requirementsDevelops annual company safety and health goals, ensuring up to date written safety and health programs and policiesProvides and communicates safety direction on dynamic issues that impact the entire organizationDevelops and monitors an annual budget that includes Human Resources services, employee recognition, sports teams support, company philanthropic giving, and administration.Selects and supervises Human Resources consultants, attorneys, and training specialists, and coordinates Company use of insurance brokers, insurance carriers, retirement plan administrators, and other outside resourcesConducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developmentsLeads the development ofdepartment goals, objectives, and systems.Establishes departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of theCompany's strategic goalsDirects the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishmentsDetermines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level ofemployee morale and motivationSpearheads investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forthMonitors and advises managers and supervisors in theprogressive discipline system/process of the Company. Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations foremployment terminationsReviews employee appeals through the Company complaint procedureDirects the preparation of information requested or required for compliance with laws. Approves all information submitted. Serves as the primary contact with the Company employment law attorney and outside government agencies.Protects the interests of employees and the Company in accordance with Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.Directs a process of organizational planning that evaluates company structure, job design, and personnel forecasting throughout the Company. Evaluates plans and changes to plans. Makes recommendations to executive managementKeeps the CEO and the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of Company goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management levelAttends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.)Escalates areas of risk for Company to leadership team.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development. 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions. Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning & development, employee relations, recruiting, safety, talent management and training and development. Must be strong in recruiting, immigration, compliance, and acquisitions. Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing communityinvolvement preferred. Possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective Human Resources Management. SHRM certification a plus.
