Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and one year PC software applications experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
Coordinates the configuration, design, acquisition and implementation of college technical resources.
Installs and maintains Windows, macOS, and Linux-based client software and hardware.
Ensures system and software compatibility and configures system files as required.
Deploys, configures, maintains, and decommissions departmental servers and client systems.
Assists departments with systems lifecycle planning.
Maintains software and hardware inventories.
Manages software licenses for the college.
Evaluates and acquires quotes for technology purchases by faculty and staff and assists with Purchasing policy compliance.
Assists departments with acquiring and managing software licenses and service subscriptions in accordance with University Policy.
Designs and implements smart-classroom technology.
Oversee audio/video installation.
Designs, implements, and maintains student computer lab environments.
Oversees computer lab installation.
Oversees technicians performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks, ensuring proper operation of classroom resources.
Performs periodic evaluation of classroom resources and addresses problems found or assigns a technician to a task.
Develops training procedures and literature for classroom technical resources.
Acts as technical liaison between College of Arts and Sciences and other University organizations.
Assists end users with security remediations.
Interacts by phone, email or in person with faculty, staff, students, and outside vendors.
Moves equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
Evaluates and recommends new software and hardware considering reliability and compatibility with existing systems.
Provides hardware and software training to technical support staff.
Designs and develops software applications, such as customized worksheets, databases, and networked applications.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
Related duties as required.
