In this role, you will be the primary Human Resources person for the Blue Seal Company Retail Stores and your responsibilities will encompass a wide spectrum of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and training initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Cultivate strong connections with the Blue Seal Stores leadership teams to establish credibility and influence within the organization while upholding the KENT Core Values of Honesty, Quality, Safety, Timeliness and Work for the Win-Win.

  • Oversee employee relations matters and conduct investigations within partner groups, seeking guidance from legal counsel as necessary.

  • Play a key role in talent acquisition by assisting with recruitment, interviews, and selection processes for both salary and hourly positions, as well as contributing to college recruiting endeavors.

  • Conduct exit interviews to discern recurring themes or conditions that may impact retention and offer recommendations for impactful change.

  • Promote employee engagement in the Learning and Development process, facilitating additional training where needed.

  • Act as a resource for employees, actively listening to their concerns and offering solutions and assistance.

  • Contribute to the annual review and performance evaluation process, including salary and wage administration.

  • Assist employees in understanding and navigating benefit communications and administration, covering areas such as disability, workers compensation, FMLA, and other leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with all relevant processes, procedures, and laws.

  • Collaborate closely with other members of the Kent Corporation HR department including Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation and Communication. 


EDUCATION:



  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a minimum requirement.

  • An advanced degree is preferred but note required.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources is necessary, with a focus on employee relations and a demonstrated career progression in HR.

  • Experience in Human Resources in a retail environment preferred.

  • This role requires up to 40% travel, primarily consisting of day trips, with occasional overnight stays to assist the company stores situated in the Northeast.
