Position Summary
Responsible for developing, managing, and communicating a comprehensive rolling work schedule for R&D support teams at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Morgantown WV. NETL is a one of the 17 United States Department of Energy national laboratories addressing America’s energy challenges.
Responsibilities:
Utilize a Central Work Control (CWC) system and associated Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to initiate and approve work requests in accordance with NETL’s Work Control System Procedure
Coordinate work order requirement documents w/team members and customers
Work with supervisors to develop scope and establish accurate work breakdown structure
Use Primavera P6 software to develop a resource loaded schedule
Routinely communicate with customers to identify changes in work priority
Quickly adjust schedules to meet developing needs of customers
Communicate schedule issues to all impacted team members (supervisor, engineers, craft workers and customers)
Collaborate with other facility support and contractor planner/schedulers to ensure work activities are coordinated and communicated
Routinely monitor progress of ongoing work to identify problems and provide solutions
Ensure resources are properly planned, work has adequate float and schedules are based on priority along with material availability
Other tasks will include:
Process purchase requests for materials and track to the job site
Processing Estimate Deviation Notices caused by schedule or budget variances
Generating and distributing meeting minutes
Document control administrative tasks
Ensure required permits are submitted and approved (i.e., hot work, wall/floor penetration, confined space, etc.)
Provide monthly and quarterly contract deliverables
Manage general stock materials
Review or develop basic Work Plans or Project Management Plans
Continually improve the work planning and control processes
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Vocational/technical training beyond high school with at least five (5) years of job-related or equivalent experience, preferred
Basic understanding of the R&D support work lifecycle (design, build, test)
Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software; Word, Excel and Outlook required
Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-energy and constantly changing environment
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract
United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify
